National Childbirth Trust - is a non profit organisation working to improve matters for families before, during and after the arrival of a child.
Their main web site is full of useful information.
Their find-a-local-group facility is easy to use and lists all contacts local to you.

Herts County Council have information on their children, schools and families site.
The National Childminding Association web site is informative on all issues related to childminding, including registered childminders and collectors from school !
